Attitude is Everything...

Last night I babysat until 11:30pm. It was a fun time. But then naturally when I got home I wanted my own time and I stayed up until 1:30 am. You can imagine my surprise when my phone alarm went off at 5:15 AM... yes... 5:15! I rolled over with only confusion and as I looked at my phone it said "Coffee Corner". Oh man! How could I forget that this was my lucky day to open! So... I promptly threw on some clothes, rocked the pony tail and made it to the shop by 5:30... SUCCESS! Unfortunately I had a pounding headache and my cold decided to kick it into full gear.
So, I worked the entire day until 3 pm when I headed to my dentist appointment to fix a filling that had fallen out. Then they squeezed me in for a cleaning (which was long overdue). Direct quote from the hygienist: "are your teeth a little cold, I just removed their sweaters" OUCH! Ok ok... I'll brush better :-p $120 for just the cleaning and my day started dark and ended dark...

Sounds kind of gloomy but NO! I had a WONDERFUL DAY!!! :-) Because Attitude determines how the day goes. Everything mentioned above is pretty much negative... but now let me tell you the positives. (I chose to cling to these!)

First... I was SOoooo happy that I had some cold medicine in the cupboard. It kicked in within 30 minutes and the headache that I went to sleep with and woke up with flew away!
Next... I remembered my keys to open up this time :-)
*There was enough soup leftover from yesterday that I didn't have to make anymore this morning... that's helpful :-)
*I got to catch up with people that I haven't seen for ages... because Kewaskum is small and I seemingly know everyone :-)
*I took the recyclables out and found a card laying in the snow... I looked and I knew the people whose name was on the envelope... again small town ;-) I'm glad (and oddly humored!) that I can give them their belated wedding card!
*My customers were all very friendly and seemingly in good spirits today- despite the FREEZING weather!
*I love my dentist! Even though its a gross expense- my dentist is a dear friend. He's interested in my life and supportive of my decision toward missions. He even helped support my first mission trip.
Oh yes- as an added bonus I decided that I would NOT get any anesthetic. Wanted to toughen up knowing full well that the dentist will not be the worst thing I will have to endure in my life... well- it didn't hurt at all (slightly disappointed) but sure glad that I skipped the Novocaine!

Yeah... that's pretty much my day. I loved it because I chose to seek the positive. :-) Thank you Jesus for always providing... despite the difficulties.
